When Google commits $9 billion to growing in Oklahoma, you know you’ve found something special.
The tech giant recently announced it will expand its AI and cloud infrastructure across the state, planting a new data center campus in Stillwater and enlarging its already sprawling operation in Pryor. The investment will also grow education and workforce development programs for Oklahomans.
For someone considering a move to Oklahoma, Google’s commitment means careers in AI and cloud don’t require West Coast rent prices. Tech jobs are showing up in Stillwater and Pryor, with ripple effects spilling into classrooms, training centers, and communities across the state.
Professionals can reap the benefits of growing careers without uprooting their lives.
“This significant investment is a game-changer for Stillwater, bringing high-quality jobs, new opportunities for residents, and economic benefits for the entire region,” said Stillwater Mayor Will Joyce. “We are excited to welcome Google and grateful for their commitment to our city, not only through their data center investment, but also as a member of our community.”
The tech company’s existing Pryor facility — the second largest data center in the world — opened in 2011 and has generated $2.2 billion of economic activity in the community.
“Not only has Google brought hundreds of jobs, economic growth, and billions in investment, they continue to support our schools and nonprofits with much-needed funding and resources, creating a tremendous impact for Pryor,” said Pryor Mayor Zac Doyle. “Their expansion announcement today marks a new chapter in our city’s success story.”
Google’s move proves Oklahoma is not just chasing the future. It’s becoming part of the backbone that powers it. Affordable housing, short commutes, and open skies are already part of the package. With the world’s most powerful companies building their futures here, suddenly the question isn’t “Why Oklahoma?”
It’s “Why didn’t I move sooner?”
