35 Oklahoma Companies Make Forbes Top Employers List

Oklahoma continues to prove it’s not only a great place to live. It’s a great place to work too.

In Forbes’ 2025 America’s Best Employers by State list, 35 Oklahoma companies made the cut. IBM topped the list, followed by Costco, the Choctaw Nation, MidFirst Bank, and the Chickasaw Nation Department of Commerce — a top five blend of tech, retail, tribal government, and finance all recognized for workplace quality.

Household names with Oklahoma operations were also ranked, including Tyson Foods, AT&T, FedEx, Amazon, Lowe’s, and PepsiCo.

The state’s educational institutions made waves too. The University of Oklahoma climbed six spots to number six in the ranking, making it the top university employer in the state. Oklahoma State University ranked number 11 on the list, continuing to prove its place as a top educational workplace. Earlier this year, Forbes recognized the university among the nation’s top 25 education-based employers on its America’s Dream Employers list.

For someone considering a move to Oklahoma, strong employer rankings signal more than just job openings. They hint at sustainable growth and a rising standard for daily life. When a state’s largest companies are invested, the communities around them tend to thrive too.
