After deliberation from an expert panel, Tulsa, Oklahoma’s annual Oktoberfest was ranked the top in the nation by USA Today.
Zeeco Oktoberfest Tulsa, which takes place each October, celebrates Bavarian culture with nearly a week of raucous fun. Tulsa’s fest features live German music, over 200 German and local beers, stein hoisting, wiener schnitzel and bratwurst, and over 140,000 square feet of tents modeled after Munich Oktoberfest in Bavaria, Germany.
Favorite events include:
-
- Dachshund Dash: Watch as over 75 wiener dogs sprint 100 feet — or as far as their little legs will carry them.
- Bier Barrel Racing: Teams roll empty wooden barrels around a course, and the fastest time wins. Want bonus points? Wear a costume or traditional German garb.
- BierMeister’s Ball: Get the full Oktoberfest experience with a private seated dinner of authentic German sausages, roasted chicken, and more.
The festival is produced by River Parks Authority, which manages over 70 miles of trails, playgrounds, and wildlife habitation along the Arkansas River in Tulsa.
