Oklahoma Tops List for Stretching $100K Salary in 2025

When it comes to cost of living in Oklahoma, few states can compete. In fact, according to a new report — none can.

A new analysis from GOBankingRates finds that a $100,000 salary in Oklahoma covers 129% of annual expenditures, making it one of the most affordable places to live in the United States.

Data sourced from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Missouri Economic Research and Information Center also found that Oklahoma’s cost of living index sits at 85.5 — the lowest in the United States. With Oklahomans spending $77,529 on living expenses annually, a six-figure salary equals comfort, cushion, and opportunity.

Oklahoma’s affordability stands out across the board. Residents enjoy the lowest transportation costs in the U.S. and the second lowest grocery and housing costs. From mortgage payments to the gas pump, everyday expenses demand less and leave more room for travel, hobbies, or investing in the future.

For anyone considering moving to Oklahoma, these numbers translate directly into lifestyle gains. Low costs free Oklahomans up to build, save, and enjoy life without the trade-offs that come with higher-cost states.

With a growing job market, thriving cities like Oklahoma City and Tulsa, and expenses well below the national average, the cost of living in Oklahoma in 2025 proves there are still places where possibility isn’t priced out.
